The summer blockbuster season is upon us, and i dont know about you, but I cant wait. If you cant either, why not just sit back and get your preview of summertime action here:

“Perl” Harbor (PG-13): The tranquil setting of this out-of-the-way scripting language is ripped apart as the evil forces of Visual Basic script and Java wage battle over the future of Web services, while amid the chaos, love is found in an unlikely place, between two programmers from Sun and Microsoft. Starring: Jude Law and Jennifer Lopez.

Planet of the Apes (R): In a world turned upside down, where theres a computer on every desk and Linux software on every computer, a young urchin, a bespectacled programmer named Bill, tries to topple the tyranny of Linus Torvalds and expose the real “truth,” that Linux is based on DOS— and that there are royalties to pay, baby! Starring: Hayley Joel Osment as Bill; Heath Ledger as Linus.

The Fast and the Furious (PG-13): A wickedly funny tale of betrayal and revenge set in the posh community of Woodside, Calif., during the peak of the dot-com bubble. Betty, a waitress at Bucks, the trendy eatery for entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, gets caught at the center of a love triangle between two VCs from Pinnacle West and Kleiner Perkins, becomes a CEO and has the last laugh as the market tanks. Starring: Renee Zellweger.

Tomb Raider (R): In this action-packed thriller, join our hero, Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson, as he wades once again into the bowels of Microsofts deepest, darkest secrets in search of the breakup remedies he handed down a year ago. The horror, the horror. Starring: Marlon Brando.

Nerds, Part 3.11 (beta)—A brief history of the collapse of the Internet (NC-17): Coming this holiday season, intrepid documentarian Robert X. Cringely reprises his role as the Carl Sagan of technology, this time picking up the story where the original left off and recounting the “billions and billions” lost. Be afraid, be very afraid. For adults only.
