iAnywhere Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc. on Monday announced the latest version of its SQL Anywhere data management software.
Sequel Anywhere Studio 8.0 bests its predecessors with new synchronization features, improved security, and developer support, said officials at the Emeryville, Calif., company.
The softwares new priority synchronization feature enables users to synchronize different sets of data separately.
“This enables you to make best use of the bandwidth,” said Chris Kleisath, director of engineering for iAnywhere Solutions.
For developers, the software includes automatically generated synchronization scripts and a graphical query plan display.
Version 8.0 also includes better security than previous versions on both the client-side and back end, encrypting data as it is written to disk, Kleisath said.
SQL Anywhere Studio 8 is immediately available at $399 for one user or $999 for up to ten users.
