Hewlett-Packard is releasing another set of preconfigured cloud infrastructure packages aimed at particular workloads to accelerate customer adoption of the vendor’s Helion private cloud offering.
The seven new pre-priced configurations, announced Feb. 12, touch on an array of lighter enterprise workloads and more business-class applications, ranging from software development to data mining and analytics.
The standardized infrastructure-as-a-service offerings are part of HP’s Helion Managed Virtual Private Cloud offering, which officials the company said is designed to help business in their migration to the cloud.
More than 60 percent of leading dating mobile apps are potentially vulnerable to a variety of cyber-attacks that put personal user information and corporate data at risk, according to an IBM Security Analysis.
The IBM study showed that many of these dating apps have access to additional features on mobile devices such as the camera, microphone, storage, GPS location and mobile wallet billing information, which in combination with the software vulnerabilities may make them vulnerable to hackers.
Cortana, Microsoft’s voice-enabled virtual assistant, will be included as part of the stock Windows 10 experience when the OS is released later in 2015. Like its current smartphone-based counterpart, Cortana will grow more familiar with users’ actions and interests over time and tailor recommendations based on user preferences and day-to-day interactions.
Three days after Qualcomm executives announced the company will pay a $975 million fine as part of a settlement of an antitrust investigation in China, South Korean regulators reportedly are considering an investigation to see if Qualcomm has abused its dominant position in the mobile chip market.
Quoting unnamed sources, several new outlets—including the Wall Street Journal and Reuters—reported that South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission is investigating Qualcomm over antitrust concerns.
