Today’s topics include Samsung soon rolling out its foldable smartphone, the Galaxy F, and HyperGrid updating its HyperCloud platform with support for AWS Lambda and the Azure CSP Program.

When Samsung officials unveiled the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone, the upcoming Galaxy F, at the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco on Nov. 7, no pricing or firm arrival date was mentioned. Then on Nov. 12, the Yonhap News Agency in South Korea reported that the phone will likely be announced for sale in March 2019 at a hefty price of $1,770.

At the event, Samsung President and CEO Koh Dong-jin said that the foldable smartphone will be released globally in the first half of 2019, starting with the shipment of about 1 million devices.

The Galaxy F features a 4.6-inch outer display like a normal smartphone, which transforms into a 7.4-inch screen when the two halves of the device are unfolded side by side. Samsung calls its foldable screen an Infinity Flex Display.

On Nov. 14, hybrid cloud management specialist HyperGrid launched version 6.0 of its HyperCloud platform, calling it “the next generation of the industry’s first intelligent hybrid cloud management platform.”

HyperCloud 6.0 adds Amazon Web Services Lambda and Microsoft Azure Cloud Solution Provider Program support to a company’s cloud system mix along with enhanced automation and turnkey compliance analysis and remediation.

With these updates, HyperCloud 6.0 claims to enable organizations of all sizes to run cloud migration projects, continuously optimize cloud consumption, automate security and compliance, and scale cloud operations to support business needs.
