What? Hewlett-Packard tenders an unsolicited bid Aug. 26 for little ol’ storage maker 3PAR for 262 times its earnings? Then Dell matches it, 3PAR apparently accepts early on Aug. 27 — then HP comes out with a cool $2 billion offer a few minutes later on Aug. 27. This is more than a little nuts, […]

Now it’s Hewlett-Packard’s turn to respond in the full-fledged bidding war for the relatively small (600-person) — but very popular — utility storage company in Fremont, Calif. There wasn’t any word right away from HP, and of course there […]

Hewlett-Packard Aug. 26 wasted little time in firing a serious monetary salvo across Dell’s bow, increasing its bid by nearly $300 million to $1.8 billion-$200 million more than Dell’s last offer-in the bidding war for utility storage maker 3PAR. The move came only about 5 hours after Dell had bettered HP’s second bid of $1.5 […]

There was no news Aug. 25 on whether Dell will respond with a second-round offer upping the ante even more in its bidding battle with Hewlett-Packard for scale-out storage maker 3PAR. As you might already know, HP on Aug. 23 revealed that it is offering $1.6 billion, or $24 per share, for the 600-person storage […]

Despite rumors of a new counter offer, Dell, now officially in a bidding war with Hewlett-Packard for the rights to own scale-out storage provider 3PAR, is saying exactly nothing as of midday Aug. 24 about HP’s 33 percent higher offer to buy the company. HP on Aug. 23 revealed that it is offering $1.6 billion, […]
